A Virtual Team with a Common Purpose
One of the benefits of having been around for a while, is I have got to meet and build relationships with some incredibly intelligent and purposeful people. So, when I set out to develop Andy King and Associates, I reached out to those people I know share my passion for supporting organisations to ‘pivot’ to active wellbeing for all the right reasons. And then, I have expanded my network thanks to the support of Future Fit for Business and the Conveners podcast. From the likes of William Roberts from the RSPH, Andy Burnham GM Mayor, Martyn Allison or Dr Hussain Al-Zubaidi, any many more, I have had the pleasure of learning directly from some of the most impressive thinkers and influencers about how physical activity can better contribute to population health and address inequalities.
I am delighted to say that as well as working collaboratively with Ken Masser and the Miova team, I am also working with Move Consulting, Duncan Wood-Allum and SLC as well as with individuals such as Beth Brown, Donna Livesey, John Oxley and Mark Tweedie and will soon be joining the likes of Davina Denisczcyz from Nuffield Health on a new board being set up by the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine.
Meet The Team
A team of experienced professionals, working together to support your goals and drive meaningful results.
My purpose is to support organisations to work effectively with health and to see leisure services ‘pivot’ to active wellbeing. As the current Chair of GM Active and member of the GM Moving partnership board, I have been on this journey for some time | Greater Manchester Moving) and have gone on to host a podcast (insert conveners link) dedicated to identifying best practise and discovering insight from politicians, NHS leaders, leading politicians and others on how physical activity can play a more prominent role in future.
My background as a CEO, four times over, of leisure Trusts and as a national director for Serco Leisure, combined with invaluable periods in the private sector with the likes of Virgin Active and Fitness First, means I understand what an efficient operation requires. I have a strong belief that before any organisation can focus on working with health it must be sure it is operating efficiently in the day-to-day and this is what I can bring to your organisation.
My track record in turning organisations around – be it Carlisle Leisure Limited in Cumbria or in Rochdale with Your Trust, or in the various contracts I oversaw with Serco, the underpinning approach of developing the workforce and realigning our mission to that of the host authority was what brought success.
I am a qualified Gallup Strengths Coach and enjoy both coaching and mentoring leaders and aspiring managers.
